regarding "typical" - Have you ever spent a long length of time living next to Mexicans in Los Angeles? I did, lol My neighbors didnt even speak English
Go there, pick a place to eat, then come tell me this looks like soup, its not watery at all, its nice and thick and super tasty this is as authentic as it gets homie, some of the ingredients are even from MEXICO
No its not chunky like "gringo salsa" but its as aunthentic as can be made outside of LA
Its the same style as so many places in Los Angeles, they give it to you in a little cup... and the recipe is based on how real Mexican ladies do it in SoCal lol my wifes sister lives with a Mexican family, and she makes salsa every day, we picked up a few things from her and bam, its perfect!
ps: (edit) I know you werent saying anything negative and dont take my post above as anything except explanation of the authenticity of the salsa,... i dont want to come across as negative.
