Health care is the primary reason people fall into debt and file for bankruptcy. The economics behind it would be that this would help lower-middle class households cut out their most expensive bill. It would allow them to be more productive and have the ability to pay off their mortgages and credit card bills. That helps banks who provide those lines of credit.
