Margarita was pretty nice though. Not a single rainy day, great beaches, and cheap services/food/booze.
On the way out, we flew from the Porlamar (Margarita) airport to Trinidad & Tobago and then to Miami to avoid having to go back to Caracas.

I once read that Margarita could be a nice place to buy property and live.
But looks like it might not be that safe after all, and if you buy a condo there, there could theoretically even take it away from you at some point, as long as Chavez rules?
I may sound ignorant, but don't know much about that... never ever been to that region yet...
