I doubt it was setup. If you watch CNBC, Santelli is always saying shit like that. He went crazy and bashed Bush for TARP and bailing out everyone. It's his schtick. For some reason right-wingers decided to use that day's rant as their narrative and left-wingers are now deciding to discredit him by making him look like some Republican double agent.
