I wrestled with probably the same thoughts as you, I goto admit I am fearful sometimes don't get me wrong but on the other hand I got tired of caring about it. I was rather consumed about the prospect of having no choice.
I am the kind of guy that wants choices, but this is a case where there is not one or maybe there is. Thats the mother fucker right there. You REALLY want to live forever? I really doubt it!
My grandmother basically put it to me like the above. She told me, "By the time you die you better just hope you are ready.", and its strange my grandmother told me that when I was 6 and terrified as the actual realisation hit me and now she is dying of cancer ( am not jesting ) and she say's she is ready almost 33 years later to the near present. She done everything she could with her life and had a good time.
I believe her when she says it.
