The Atkin's diet works very well while you're on it, but if you cheat you'll gain back weight very quickly. I used to use it for 6 days days on & then have 1 meal of totally carbs no protein on the 7th day, which helped keep me sane.
Also, another tip, take plenty of calcium while you're on it to compensate for the dairy products you're not having. Prevents you from getting irritable & sleep better
