How are people so misinformed? Where are the majority of you getting your news?

EVERY United Stated official involved in this war has said since the VERY BEGINNING that they did not expect an easy victory, that this was not going to be a quicky campaign, that we can expect to suffer casualties and that this offensive would not be like the first war in Iraq.

For weeks before this started, I would pick up the newspaper and every single day there would be a government official warning us that this war would cost lives on both sides, that this war would not be easy or simple, etc, etc, etc. I saw it in the papers, I heard it on the news, it was in speeches and press conferences.

Do people (I am not speaking directly to you, charly, just in general) just not listen or do they hear only the loudmouth anti-war propaganda or what? If you can find two reputable statements by anyone in authority saying this would be easy, you'll also find 2,000 saying it would not be easy. Is this just an extension of everyone wanting to think Americans are ignorant? Is it simply because it is more fun to say "You didn't see that coming, did you," and pretend we wandered into this like a bunch of little lost pussycats?

No one who was paying any attention expected an easy victory.
