Human teeth from pre-historical periods show a lot of wear from seen and nut eating. I have a minor in Anthro, and although I forgot most of what I learned in school I distinctly remember that meat is kinda hard to come by when you have to hunt it and kill it and most anthropologists speculate that we mostly got by on veggies, grains and nuts with meat when we could get it.

Forward projecting eyes are a characteristic not only of hunters but also of an upright posture, they are a great help in seeing predators on the way. I believe all primates share this trait, and monkeys and gorillas don't eat a lot of meat. Many omnivores have this trait.

I don't want to get into a long discussion about the Atkins diet because I really don't care too awful much, but it seems like common sense to me that a varied diet and a lot of exercise is the best way to go. If you're not exercising and you're still losing weight and you're not fasting, I smell trouble.
