Actually it happens the first time your income gets high enough that you actually have to *pay* taxes rather than getting a full refund, and you suddenly realize that the money you AREN'T getting is going to support a bunch of people whose idea of "hard work" is to sit around watching Rikki Lake and waiting for their monthly check, and who didn't do a quarter of the work that you did that year.
