500 calories a day is starvation level even if you were a 95 pound girl. Your body will hold onto every bit of fat if you eat like that and you will get weak and sick from it as well. You may have to eat a lot more healthy foods, small meals throughout the day. Maybe more like 2000 calories for a 170 pound man (depends on your weight). Also lift weights and do some exercise, otherwise the starvation diet will just transform you into a weaker, smaller out of shape person.
