your right all copyright holders are stupid
none of them will realize that by fully providing for their customer fair use rights by using the technology (private tracker) they eliminate the excuse of using the public tracker that can be abused.
paul you might be an idiot
but there are content producers that understand the very simple logic, if i give you the full benefits of a torrent based backup, for free,
you can't argue that the ONLY way you can get that benefit for free is to put it on a public tracker when such an act would REDUCE the effectiveness of BOTH swarms.

I setup a private tracker because i wanted to protect my content, and i was never greedy enough to demand people pay me twice for the same right to use.

A private tracker, reduces my cost of fulfilling their backup/recovery/timeshifting rights by reducing my bandwidth costs

It's people paying for goods, services and access that has made the Internet what it is today. Taking out the free loaders and those who profit from theft will make the Internet stronger. People like GG who make their living on the Internet, I suppose he does as he's here, should visualise an Internet where people can't afford to buy his programs because the Internet is free. He can't have it both ways, either we make money and buy his programs or we don't make money and we don't buy his programs.
you are an idiot if you believe that a cutting middle man profits out of the mix are going to reduce the amount of money that is available to buy stuff.
People still need to eat, they need shelter, and 100s of other physical goods.
The scripts/code will still sell if it helps people make the money to afford those goods.
Even if all your virtual business were to disappear, people would have more disposable income to spend on other physical stuff.

Or does he want others to pay for his business and his entertainment?
your site has 1000 videos, you charge 30/month keep a member for an average 3 months and give 1/2 your money to affiliates. You give another 15% to your processor. Even if you were to assume you got all your hosting and bandwidth only took 1/2 of the remaining money you need to make 0.0525 cents per viewer to break even. That a CPM of 52.5 cents.
your are a really sad marketer if you can't figuire out how to make that pitance.
