Those are good, although the first only applies if you depend on a place for work or rep.
Also, here's one more:
Learn a CMS or two
And maybe get certifications to go along with it. Wordpress and Joomla are good for building popularity, Drupal is good for generating an income, eZ Publish is good for vastly overcharging corporate and government clients.
