Barring any massive natural disaster, I think we'd keep pumping out the foods rather than have it rot.
Never a bad time to start growing your own and maybe check into canning and preserving your harvest though.
But if people keep going out of work who cant afford to buy foods, then the lines at soup kitchens and government handout programs will swell pretty fast, no doubt about that one.
