How many of us have used stolen software? How many are still using stolen software?
The closest I've come to that in the last few years is that over the last five years
I've paid for three or four copies of Windows and I've used three or four copies,
each for only several hours. Theycopies I used weren't always the same copies
I've paid for, though, so that's a gray area I think. We could buy a computer without
Windows on it for $150 less, but we pay the extra $150, save the license key, then
delete Windows and put Linux on. Maybe a year later we'll need to check some
bullshit DRM software in Windows, so we slap it on a spare box to test something.
Right now my printer is printing a cease and desist letter for someone using small
parts stolen from Strongbox. (Yes we'll find you even if you just take out a few pieces
to steal - it pays for itself within weeks of buying it anyway, so that's the way to go.)
