Back then women stayed home and cooked all day, these days the women needs to work to. You have many divorced families, your parents might have been together when you were a kid...and then later split. People are more consumed in other things, TV, internet, hobbies, etc. Growing up we had 7 TV channels, now 500 channels...no internet. The family back in the days just had more values, these days parents don't even tell their kids to stop running in the house. Families don't all live on the same block anymore...they might have to relocate for work, etc.
I live in an apartment building and the Dominicans have family parties several times a week. The area here has become mainly Dominican...so they have a ton of family in the naborhood. Fucking sick of Bachata music.
