Dyna,,, you need to listen to the news a little harder... there are two flaws with your bombing comments.

First, the majority of the buildings being bombed, are in fact, all in one area of the city... which does NOT have homes, apartments etc there. The secert police headquarters wasocated there and the civilians do their utmost to stay as far from them as they can. Saddam built that whole area as a tribute to himself, and filled it with palaces and ministries etc etc which ARE all viable governmental targets. Who said we were NOT going to remove those? The US didn't, all along the plan has been broadcast to remove ALL signs of Saddams governemt to show the people we want HIM and his regime, not them.

Second, the majority of the munitions being used close by where civilians are located (Even alot where they are NOT) are burrowing missiles and bombs. The blow UNDER the ground so blow UP, not sideways. A lot harder to do serious damage to other structures when they are 30 feet under the ground. If we were trying to just bomb those buildings with surface bombs (injuring civilians and destroying their homes etc anyways) why would we pay millions for those smart bombs when we could just carpet bomb and get the same results? Make any sense?
