I had a similar prob about a week after throat surgery... I took HALF the recommended dose of a laxative and felt it coming several hours later while I was still about 15 mins drive away from home. Scared the shit out of my wife (who was at home) because I flung the front door open and raced straight to the toilet.
I made it though.
