Look at the Basque in Spain and France. They consider themselves their own race / nationality, but does that give them the right their own land? Should France and Spain carve out a piece of their country and just hand it over to them? Imagine the legal problems that would pose.
Should the Palestinians have their own land and their own country? Dunno. I have no clue. But if they are going to launch missiles into another country at will, well, maybe they shouldn't.

You know, Nelson Mandela and the rest of the ANC were considered terrorists too. In fact, it wasn't until 2008 that Mandela and other apartheid era members of the ANC were allowed to enter the US without a special waiver from the Secretary of State. Oh, and we can thank the CIA for getting Mandela arrested in the first place.
I guess the point I'm trying to make is that it's not always black and white. These are very complex issues and both sides in all cases feel as though they have the right to whatever piece of land is being contested.
