It seems like this could be the perfect opportunity for the "right" company to become a independent 3rd party records holder for the industry. I stress the "right" company because no one is going to trust their asses to some GFY dimwit which leaves me out..

I wanted to post this because I've seen no one talk of this and I'm really surprised no one has thought of the idea. If we had a trusted company then primary producers could send in the legal docs to this "3rd party" then the 3rd party could become the record keeper for the many secondary producers and affiliates.

This would greatly reduce the risk for performers being their ID's and personal info would not be handed out to just anyone. It would also simplify things greatly for both affiliates and even the DOJ whom inspects the records.

While I'm not a 2257 expert, I do know that just linking to a primary producer is not going to fly. As other records still need to be kept, such as links to the location the content is listed.

A centralized 3rd party could use software that allows affiliates and producers to simply input their data via the web. Charging a small monthly fee from both primary and secondary producers/affiliates could make this a profitable business and still provide a reliable and cheap service for the industry as a whole.

IMO this should likely be a company in LA, simply because so much of the industry is located there. Anyway just a thought and a idea..
I own the domain 2257inc.com
