That is why I just said I blame schools and piss poor parents.
I know it is complicated. I just never got into it because well I was brought up different and the concept itself falls into stealing - not saying duplicating is stealing, just the concept falls into it in my own mind.
I got my first lesson about it very early on in life. As a young kid I had self made some very fancy and in depth character record sheets for AD&D, 3 pages - double sided. Spent fucking days making the master and it was not only very unique but in most peoples mind it helped make the game better. Some people wanted them and there was like a small demand. Never made much money but it was nice to get a quarter for each of them. Then one day I found out some people were making their own copies of it with the photocopier. This slightly pissed me off but not that much. I guess because I knew them and they had bought some before, usually they did it because they ran out and I was not around. Then a year or two latter me and some friends went to a convention in Oakland and there were people selling the damn things and lots of people using them. That ended up really upsetting me and teaching me what it was like to create something and have others make copies. Yeah I still had all the ones I made, so I was not out any of my copies - however I still felt very cheated and stolen from.
