I'm about to put out my new cd but I know that in this current climate labels will only focus 100% on shit like Soulja Boy. My cd gets leaked, distributed via p2p and torrents...word of mouth spreads way before launch date, reviews are in that my cd rocks, it sells a good amount of units in the first week. I go on tour and have a whole load of new fans paying for tickets and buying my merchandise, not to mention sponsorship deals with clothing lines, etc. I'm happy. Piracy helps these artists. The labels really fucked themselves on this one, bottom line. Now we can cry about it all day but it will always be there. The future is merchandise and live shows, vinyl, etc.
