The only case to get is the OtterBox! it's about $35-$50 but it's the best protection out there. I would not go with out a case it's too fragile and I hear that Apple will NOT sell you a replacement. You actually have to signup for another contract or get a different phone. I hope that is not true but it;s what I have heard.
