Goodbye 2008, Hello 2009 ? Up 21.90%

Goodbye 2008, Hello 2009 ? Up 21.90%
I can't turn on the television without hearing how the world is coming to an end. Stocks are dwindling, 401(k)s are empty and the mortgage crisis. Hundreds of thousands of people are being laid off quarterly. Retailers are slashing prices up to 80% off in an eleventh hour attempt for a black fourth quarter ending. With all these things dominating the media its hard not getting depressed. I haven't done as much work this year as I would of liked. In fact, I have barley done any. I have big plans in the works to secure my future in this industry and start my the first quarter of my fourth year strong. Nevertheless, I've bummed around all year.
Every few months I attempt a website redesign but usually get frustrated and stop. I update this, rotate that and hope its enough. Then watch the news once again only to hear how billion dollar companies are going bankrupt and there is no hope for us small businesses. The depression deepens with every late breaking finical sector update.
Two-thousand and eight has brought some interesting times. The US dollar weakened and precious metals rocketed. Pushing both silver and gold to a thirty year high. Then the prices dropped as the dollar gained some ground. Gas hit four dollars a gallon for a lot of us and even five dollars for some in select areas. Every other house in any random neighborhood went into foreclosure and times looked bleak. But the year is coming to an end. With a new president only twenty-two days away, feds cutting interest rates and the hearts of Americans filling with hope. Two-thousand and nine might just be the year we start to recover. No doubt it will be a long road and many will fall on hard, if not harder, times. I'm just here to show you the light within the dark.
Sales are up 22% over 2007 for the entire year. This during a year of unspeakable misfortunes. I have no idea what 2009 will bring but if profits continue to increase by 22% each year ? I'll always be happy.
Happy New Year GFY
May next year be just as abundant.

Christopher Hill
