And this is all right with you? The fact that he gases hundreds of his own people, does mass executions, raping etc is okay by you?
Being a threat to his neighbors, when he does *this* to his own people, is all right with you?
We should just leave him alone?
If he'll do this to his own people, think of what he'd do to his neighbors.
By your reasoning though, this is of no matter - we should just leave him alone and only worry about him when/if he gets to be the size of... what, the USA?

The reason people bitch about this is because we have never given a shit. Guess what, we still don't. Iraqi freedom is one of the excuses Bush is giving to induce world and local support. Although many in the world do not agree with Saddam they don't see it as our place to go over there and worry about it.
Also, if we start attacking countries because of what they "might" do later the US would not last long. Are we going to go after Korea next? Then who? Are you ready to have REAL WORKING WMD'S lobbed at the USA anytime soon? When a leader of a country manages to piss off 3/4ths of the world you can believe people are going to have something to say about it.

No, I really *can't* see why the rest of the world views us as a bully for doing that. Explain it to me. The alternative is to allow his actions to continue threatening both his own people and his neighbors - at least, until he can launch those SCUDS that he didn't have yet launched at the troops on the Kuwait border a little further - and we are supposed to just sit back and accept the alternative?

Again, the majority of the world does not think it's our place to handle this. If we went around attacking everybody that we don't agree with there wouldn't be a world for long. How many countries do you think we could attack on the same premise? Do you realize this is the first time a country has been attacked for what they might do? Of course it pisses off the world and Bush continues to rub more and more in their face. This isn't good for world relations and it may prove to be a huge mistake in the years to come although it probably wont. If our President had sold this idea a little better you might not see the public outcry you do now. If you don't think the USA is a bully I would like to know your definition. We are shooting at guys with guns strapped to pickup trucks with fighter jets and big ass bombs. We are telling their troops that if they follow their countries orders we will prosecute them as war criminals. How do you think the US would react if Saddam said the same thing to us. Do you think the US would allow our captured soldiers to be put to death because they followed Bush's orders. Anyway, I'll quit talking now but I can't understand how you are suprised in the least at the opposition to this war.
