I haven't once since the beginning of this expected less than a high number of casualties and heavy resistance. People don't seem to understand that even if Sadaam and co. gave up today there are still civilians that are going to hate us. Whenever we "take over" there we will stilll see many casualties from suicide bombers and civilian resistance while we are in Iraq protecting the new government.

I'm pretty sure that saddam gave up on defending the north and south of iraq to concentrate on defending baghdad.
It will most likely become very ugly once our troops enter baghdad. You can bet the casualties count will become very high on both sides.
Don't be surprised if at this time, saddam uses chemical weapons.
He obviously knows that he will lose this war and, if you take in consideration his psychological profile, he will want to go out in flames...
