There are precedents where the rules of war don't really apply. For instance the Nazi invasion of Russia..that was harldy a struggle that adhered to the Geneva convention. Any struggle against an invading aggressor will probably involve the use of partisans and non uniformed combatants.
The USA is involved in an illegal invasion of another sovereign state. They are terror bombing (shock and awe) their cities, they are bombing hospitals and other civilian facilites. Just wait, it won't be long until they cut off the power and water to Baghdad.
Every young Arab in the world will be walking to Iraq to take a pot shot at the Americans.
