I would characterize Saddam as more like Stalin than Hitler, however. Stalin was more interested in preserving his own egolomaniac power-base than anything else, just like Saddam. Hitler was trying to create a "greater" humanity at any cost; his own power-base was a means to a twisted end... just as Pol Pot's was.
Regarding the sig... I cannot disagree. But I must add the words of Thomas Jefferson: "Men who would give up freedom for security deserve neither." Both quotes hold true to this day.
