There was over 900 recorded "fraggings" (a subordinate taking out a superior by attempting to kill him either by a grenade in his hootch or by other means) during the Vietnam war. The motivation was usually because a superior was to "gungho", or was a fuckup, or was just a chickenshit. This "fragging" in the camp of the 101'st may have other motivation.
