Times like these are times to put your company on a dialysis machine and get rid of bad blood and get in respectful fresh blood, the amount of quality talent out there who will appreciate a well paid position or any position for that matter is at an all time high.

And last but not least every programmer, designer, manager photo guy is replaceable, some here would collapse if you would hear how your lovely employee portrays you to their family and friends.

In all my years in business every time I talk to someone who works for somebody all I hear is bitching and moaning about how they are not happy with their job and their boss is a asshole and stingy and has no clue how to run things.

Bottom line is your always gonna be an asshole to those who work for you even if you treat them well and pay well, after all no one wants to work for somebody and everyone feels they are not appreciated, so you might as well stop trying to be mister nice guy and put your business first.

This is my tip of the year :-)
You couldn't be more wrong. I have no problem giving the great employers I have worked for the credit they deserve. The problem is, a lot of employers are assholes and exactly what you described. "Stingy assholes who have no clue." I have worked for many people just like that. A spade is a spade. If you are a good employer and treat your people well, I don't believe they run around unhappy, talking shit about you.

I can understand how your employees would feel that way about you though. If you carry around that point of view about your employees and consider them all your enemy and easily replaceable. They probably do hate you and talk shit about you.
