Like in any country, there are dilects - don't forget that Quebec (province) has had different immigrants from several french countries - there are French from France, Belgium, Caribbean islands, African countries. They all have an influence on the French that is spoken in Quebec. You're lucky you're not stranded in Beauce, cuz you'd think you were in a different country altogether!
