I love this story.....
I was working full time for the local phone company in California, outside of San Francisco. I was pulling in a cool $70k a year. I worked a split shift, meaning I worked from 7am - 11am, and then 3pm till 7pm. I had my afternoons free and all of my friends were at work. I had worked for three years at a fast food restaurant - a Wienerschnitzel, a hot dog place - and I had become good friends with the owners. They needed help during the lunch rush. They didn't really pay me, but instead bought me stuff off of Ebay ( like a signed autograph from Cindy Crawford ) and all the free food I could eat, any time I wanted.
So there I was working behind the counter when my future wife came in. I was into her friend, who dress liked a "office hooker". But she was married, and Donna and I started talking.
One afternoon she came in with her friends and I asked Donna out. She blew me off, but after dropping off her friends at their work she came back in. All she had in her car was a star trek note pad and lipstick, so she wrote her number down in lipstick.
She thought I was a some $4/hour fast food employee; She had no idea I had a real job.
I still have that little note with her phone number; It's framed and sits here in my office.
