Third world wages are moving up somewhat and first world wages are moving down quite a bit to match.
In the longrun, most Americans will be working not for low wages, but downright slave wages; indentured servitude...
And to make matters worse, most Americans are further enslaved by debt; their credit scores are scrutinized by insurance companies, perspective employers, etc ... but I digress.
Anyways, the OP can likely find work asap at $20 per day. Sad, but true.

And in the meantime, take advantage of every government program, loopholes, etc to survive...
Ie. if you have a lot of credit card debt, don't pay it, if you have more pressing bills to pay ... food and necessities / utilities first, secured debt second, taxes third, etc... credit card debt is unsecured and not necessary for survival - pay that last...
A few months later, the credit card companies will send you ever improving offers ... first pay only 5% interest, then 90% of outstanding blance, then 75%, then only 55% or less of the total outstanding balance ... and if one accepts such offers, they'll typically mark on the credit report the entire debt as being paid in full!
Yes, I'm serious and know many people doing it. Only chumps pay full-price ... the big rich folks are getting bailed out, so should you!
