My one dog, who was fixed, used to very very loudly "service" himself orally. This was not a case of the dog simply licking himself we are talking full out slurping noises from an 85 pound dog. He would actually wake me up at night with the noise and he would be laying out in the hallway! Everytime we would yell at him to stop (he had a great habit of doing this when we had visitors) he would just look at us with this really dopey "What?" look.
