this book has info about that

Author William Blum resigned as a young state department operative over the American posture on Vietnam, which he saw as tragically symptomatic of an embracing militarism structured too closely to the military-industrial complex of which former popular U.S. president and war hero Dwight D. Eisenhower warned against. He saw a tragic influence of the CIA, which was running out of control and fighting battles to aid multinational corporations at the expense of indigenous national populations. He catalogues the numerous examples of the military-industrial-intelligence establishment overrunning foreign governments. Iran under President Mossadegh was one notable CIA coup. Another was the overthrow and murder of democratically elected Chilean president Salvador Allende.

Blum also focuses on tools of international bullying such as the School of the Americas, training courses for overthrowing and disrupting governments, as well as the assassination manuals prepared by and for the use of CIA operatives. He also focuses on elections perverted by U.S. intelligence influence, global interventions, and mind altering CIA experiments.

In response to those who use the tired "Blame America first" cliche, which is used as an intimidating tool to cut off debate, it is important for Americans to realize mistakes made in the past, many of which are tragic and gruesome, and achieve constructive changes. Egregious policies have been adopted by another nations, notably Europe, where u-turns were ultimately made. Hopefully this will happen in America, where the mindless international bullying of the Bush administration is currently in full swing.
