The deer levels have to be maintained or there are too many deer hits on the road. Deer hits are the bread and butter of our local auto body shops. It's what keep them in business.
So what is the problem with hunting them? How is hunting them any different from eating animals from a farm? You seem to not have a problem with that. Plus the money paid for licenses goes directly to the Ministry of Natural Resources (around here)
In our area we have to use black powder guns. So there is some challenge to it. You can't just unload with a semi auto.
And feeding them is also illegal in our province during hunting season. If you could use a 270 with a scope and a salt block in the middle of a field, then ya, it would be pretty easy. I still know plenty of guys that end up without a deer at the end of the season.
