When the day comes and I get arrested in Thailand and sentenced to three years in a Thai prison, you will all say I was a dumb ass for shooting there and had it coming. I "knew better" you will say.
When someone pushes the line, takes risks and thumbs their nose at the law, sooner or later your luck runs out. It did for Max and he brought it all on himself. He has no one to blame but himself. If he wanted to produce that type of content he should have moved to Germany. If he lived under the false idea that he was a free man to do as he chooses, he was ill informed. Perhaps when he gets out of prison he will think otherwise of his glorious freedoms.
Retarded, unfair, unjust or whatever you want to call it, it's all of that. But it still doesn't change the fact that he KNEW he was pushing it and kept on doing it anyway.
I think it is unfair but I also didn't like what he shot. It was abusive. With that said he *should* have the right to create such a movie regardless of what or any of you think. Sadly, he does not live in a country that allows such freedom.
