Not true. I'll have a bigass turkey sandwich any time. Turkey-bacon club, turkey on rye, turkey stirfry, whatever. You ever had a turkey steak done on the barbecue? They're fantastic.

This I agree with. We Canadians get poked fun at for having our thanksgiving in October, when in fact YOURS is exactly as you say... too bloody close to Christmas. Ours in my opinion is the more sensibly positioned holiday.
But I'm cooking a turkey and celebrating today anway. :D
