First of all, actions are not the same as speech. If I punch you in the face, that is not "free speech", simply because it isn't speech. Now, what he did was not saying "Hey, you are a fucking moron for waving that sign around!", but take an aggressive action. It's like when you don't agree with the president - you can tell him he's wrong, but you can't buldoze the white house. Got it?
Secondly, what you said about waving signs around when the war is already happening not making a difference - wake up and remember Vietnam.
