Captain Janks Gets Rather Again
unbelievable, these network news organizations are so sloppy it's pathetic. For years some guys who are hardcore Howard Stern listeners have made a sport of calling into the networks during big news stories and getting on the air posing as experts or eyewitnesses then pranking them ending with a Stern reference. Most famous one was to Peter Jennings during the O.J. chase. Classic.
Captain Janks is a moron who has been doing it longer than anybody else and he just got through to CBS and made a fool of Rather again.
Janks just posted this:
"I called CBS news telling them I was "Jim Axlerod", a CBS news correspondant that was on the air with Rather 15 minutes earlier. "Axlerod" was traveling with the 3rd Infantry division. In order to get them to put me on the air, I told them that the 3rd Infantry division had just been deployed into southern Iraq. CBS broke away from live coverage of Ari Fliecher's press conference to take my call. As soon as they put me on the air with Rather, I simply said "Baba Booey, you idiot". Rather didn't get that that was a prank call, although CBS did. Rather kept reporting that the 3rd Infantry division had crossed the borders, for nearly an hour afterword, till someone finally told him the call was phoney. CJ"
they don't even bother checking, don't even have Caller ID apparently.
Poor Rather, he's always been a wackjob but he's just senile now.
