So whats the best bang for the buck for manged dedicated hosting? Of most significance is qualified support especially in the area of security. Next comes speed! A Lot of variables affect speed (server, memory... and net connectivity). So I'm really looking for more than a simple one line answer.

Has anyone seen a decline in support ability, response time etc. from any of the hosting providers? Any improvements?

All comments appreciated.
Mate with every host an occasional hicup may happen, especially if in the end the original issue was caused by some 3rd party script or something like that.

I happen to host now with Techiemedia and for the most part these mofos are fantastic and 2 steps above the rest. But even with these guys who are the best a very occasional hicup may happen as they arte human. But in the rnd they still blow doors off the other 3 hosts I've been with and all of those are well known, in fact all were mentioned in this thread, but i won't name names.
