Hey if you want to fight.. and create distance at the same time.. why not try "arnis"

it's a local martial arts here in my country... that uses some stick to attack and defend at the same time...

and if you're pretty skilled.. you can combine it with some kungfu , aikido, muai thai or some brazillian juijitsu...

I saw this one time in a tourney.. that he cracked open the opponents head and kicked him in his guts.. and then.. KO.. pretty cool..

Or you can learn how to do samurai techniques in arnis.. i would choose the hit and run version for you.. you hit the attacker then run.. if he chase you. you stop and hit him again.. then run..

It's kinda wuzz but hey... your a wuzz right.. hahah... just kidding...
