that's pretty much standind toe to toe or stand up clenching isn't it?..i cant be in grappling or boxing matches giving up a foot in reach...dude's will just lay on me with their weight and i'm going down...tho the knees and elbows will proly be about all i will be able to use since i wont be able to get extension of limbs...how involved is defense and ground survival?

yeah that seemed the most logical except i need them to live...i need something that involves deflection and running away to combine with it...tis why i ask if akido is just for show or does it work in real world practice...especially with the weight and reach im giving up
