I know that you weren't. I just have the habit of giving my opinion. I don't do it to offend anyone. It's just the way I am. Also, I didn't say to go to school and learn music theory. My point is that knowing the different mode, scales etc. can help. It doesn't hurt to learn new things. I'm not gonna sit here and talk theory since that's boring, but I was just saying that it's hurts no one to learn modes and shit.

But theory is stupid, for every pro out there that is educated in theory there are 5 others that make 10 times more money that never took a lesson in thier life. So the money proves theory is shit and anyone that takes guitar seriously puts Theory in its place. Its Just theory!
I can get crazy and talk theory all day infact I love it but it's not what makes an artist nor defines his place to those that likes what they do on guitar.
I have had Satch fanboi's tear me a new ass hole, but the metal heads loving what I do. It just depends who you play for and if you do not play for yourself you lost site of what guitar is all about. |
