I'm not sure they GUN it, the 300C simply has a ton of power so if you're lined up next to it in a civic and you both give it half throttle they will appear to be hauling ass away from you. In the 300C or SRT8 if you even come close to gunning it the tires will squeal and if traction control is on it will have a little "hop" to the launch.
My mom who's 50 drove the charger R/T I had a few times and EVERY time the first time she went to hit the gas she squealed the tires. The throttle is simply more sensitive than alot of vehicles.
That is the defense to the GUNS it part but the slamming on brakes pisses me off and happens in any vehicle, it just means the driver is a dipshit. I converted to a civic Hybrid and find myself "coasting" all over the place. See the light turn yellow way up there? take the foot off the gas! you'll save gas and still end up getting back up to speed the same as flying up and slamming on your brakes. This is something I KNOW I did when I was 20 and under. I grew out of it once I had kids in the car.
