OK, your points are about GM, now how about Ford/Chrysler? The real problem behind the big 3's cash collapse is bad union deals. I'm not going to flame the unions in this but the fact is they not only way overpay the hourly workforce BUT they get stuck paying way too much for retired workers who refuse to die. MANY of those old people drank and smoked their entire lives and have been pulling serious money out of the auto makers for for benefits they're entitled to from old/dumb deals.
GM has a nice product lineup while Ford for the most part has been pretty clueless. Every foreign automaker makes a killing on the SMALL/cheap cars. Due to the union deals the big 3 have they're lucky to break even when they sell things like a focus.
Chrysler has the mini-van and the badass 300. The RAM was the best truck for a while but I think GM probably caught up and passed them when they got their diesel act together not too long ago. Poor Ford had the slowest worst handling truck for quite a while after having the best truck for YEARS Whats killing chrysler? inexcusably bad gas mileage and subpar transmissions. Lifetime warranties should have helped that BUT now when those same shitty transmissions go out Chrysler will be paying on the backend to repair them.
I'm an old Ford Fan and have owned quite a few 60's/70's Fords including the '68 Mustang in my garage... Todays Ford is clueless and the Ford Family can't run anything properly these days. Detroit Lions anybody? If the Ford brand is going to pull through everybody with the Ford last name needs to be tossed out on their asses.
