Back then they brought it in all kinds of ways. They would do it like these pictures but usually much farther offshore.
In southwest Florida The shrimp boats brought it in close enough for the speed boats to pick up and down in the Everglades it was brought in by airboats.
They would recruit locals with a keen knowledge of the area to bring it in through
a maze of canals and waterways that customs and DEA didn't have the resources to patrol.
You could go to a place like Everglades city and see toothless redneck hicks in old jeans and t shirts with five or six gold rope chains
and big gold anchor pendants around their neck and a gold Rolex on their wrist
