I can go both ways on this issue. I do think with digital photography a good 20% of the process is how you treat that digital image in photoshop (adjusting, lightly retouching, etc) But I do feel that some people get a little too "Filter happy" and overdue it to a point where it seems a bit too perfect and becomes a distraction. For most of the content I deal with I try to keep it in it's most natural state. But color adjustment is key on any digital photo straight from the camera...
