As for the boom in the internet/computer revolution, name all the companies that had a hand in that. Cisco, Microsoft, Intel, AMD, etc, etc. Those are US companies. American companies that take the smartest people from around the world and give them a chance to succeed.
I'm not saying "Americans" are the smartest, but America fosters more success than any other country.

actually the "internet" comes from Arpanet but the "www" - the part you can see - was developed by CERN
and i think it's not about doubting that there are smart people in the US, it's - sometimes - about the arrogance of claiming that you are smarter than the rest of the world. no one, especially with a history and culture of thousands of years, likes to hear that from people who at a very high percentage never even left their own country.
