Well, everyone raised their fists together yelling "get Osama Bin Laden!!!" and Bush went "you know, he's not really a priority.. I don't know where he is. We're going into Iraq now." and a lot of people went "huh??"
Then came the lies about WMD's that half the country believed, half didn't.... and so forth. Spiral ensues.
