Honestly, those states are a part of our country and all of them have beautiful places. To say otherwise is lowering yourself to other's level and sounding ignorant too. There are lots of nice cities in those states. Maybe not exactly where you want to lay your roots, but there are so many nice places all over the south and US in general.
For example, did you know they have a full scale replica of the Parthenon in Nashville, Tennessee?
I plan to see this thing one day!

Yeah its not Disneyland, but there are lots of wonderful things in those places. I live in friggin SE Louisiana, on the bayou, and yeah its more fun to just visit. But I've learned so much living down here, my life experience is far greater than others now. I wouldn't trade it for anything.
(and I do have plans to move, as soon as the housing market gets better hah)
